Which one is yours?

  • Pick the Adventurer 5M Pro if

you want the fewest surprises. The enclosure keeps drafts, fingers and fumes out, it is quiet enough for a classroom, and it prints the widest range of everyday materials.

  • Pick the AD5X if

colour matters more than an enclosure. Four-colour prints straight out of the box at the lowest price we stock, same speed and build volume as the 5M Pro.

  • Pick the Creator 5 Pro if

you already know you want ABS, ASA or carbon-fibre materials, or you want multi-material prints without a purge pile. It is the one we send to engineering labs.

Print this first

  • Select PLA Silk - Green - 1.75mm - 1KG (plastic spool) (image 2) | Filaments.ca

    EconoFil PLA, from $12.49

The most forgiving material there is. Low temperature, no enclosure needed, 25+ colours. Start with a black and a white.

  • Standard PLA Matte Black 1.75mm filament on a plastic spool

    Select Matte PLA, $16.99

Same easy printing, but the matte finish hides layer lines, so early prints look better than they should.

    Shop Select
  • PETG, from $14.99

Your second material. Tougher and more heat resistant than PLA for brackets, hooks and anything that lives outdoors.

Five things people forget to order

  1. 1

    A second roll

Everyone underestimates how much they will print in week one. A black and a white covers most of it.

  2. 2

    Spare nozzles

Nozzles are consumables. A variety pack for your printer means a clog never ends the weekend.

  3. 3

    Somewhere dry to keep filament

Filament absorbs moisture and prints badly when damp, PETG especially. Keep opened rolls in a resealed bag with the desiccant that came in the box.

  4. 4

    Bed adhesion and a scraper

A glue stick on the plate and a plastic scraper fix nine out of ten first-layer problems.

  5. 5

    The settings page

Every material we sell has its temperatures on the product page and on the temperature guide. Bookmark it.

First-printer questions

Is 3D printing hard to learn?

Not any more. All three printers level themselves, the slicer ships with profiles for our filament, and your first print is usually running inside half an hour. When something does go wrong, call us.

Do I need an enclosure?

Not for PLA, PETG or TPU. You do for ABS and ASA, which warp and smell without one. If you are unsure what you will print in a year, the enclosed Adventurer 5M Pro keeps the door open.

Which filament should I buy first?

EconoFil PLA. It is the cheapest, the most forgiving, and it prints on every printer we sell. Two or three rolls is plenty to start.

What is the warranty?

If a printer arrives with a problem, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we arrange a replacement or return. After that the Flashforge manufacturer warranty applies, and we help you through it. Full details on the returns page.

How does a printer ship?

From Brampton, Ontario, usually within 24 hours, by courier with tracking. Printers are heavy items, so the shipping rate is shown at checkout rather than the free-shipping rate.

Can I call someone?

Yes: 1-844-465-7684, Monday to Thursday 10 to 4:30 and Friday 10 to 4 Eastern, or hello@filaments.ca.
